Bridge Reconstruction Near Malacky Forces Closure of D2 Motorway Junction
Reconstruction work on a road bridge over the D2 motorway near the western Slovak town of Malacky has begun, forcing a full temporary closure of the interchange. The Bratislava Regional Road Administration, the body responsible for managing regional roads in the Bratislava self-governing region, has launched repairs on bridge M5142 on road II/503, which crosses over the D2 motorway — a major route connecting Bratislava with the Czech and Austrian borders. The construction work has required the complete closure of all entry and exit ramps at the Malacky motorway junction in both directions, meaning drivers cannot currently use the interchange to join or leave the D2 at that point. Motorists traveling in the area are advised to use alternative routes for the duration of the reconstruction.
