Branislav Gröhling secured a clear victory in the leadership contest for Slovakia and Solidarity (SaS), a liberal opposition party, during the party's congress. Jana Bittó Cigániková, a prominent party figure, was removed from the party's leadership after receiving only 32 votes in the election for the republican council.
