France Doubles Humanitarian Aid to Lebanon, Calls for Ceasefire

France announced it will double its humanitarian assistance to Lebanon amid ongoing conflict in the region. The French government is simultaneously working to broker a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group that controls much of southern Lebanon and has been engaged in cross-border fighting with Israeli forces.
