Slovak PM Fico Refuses to Join NATO Summit's Financial Aid Package for Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has announced that Slovakia will not participate in a NATO financial aid mechanism for Ukraine at the upcoming NATO summit. Fico, who leads Smer-SD, a left-nationalist ruling party known for its skeptical stance toward Western military support for Ukraine, has consistently opposed channeling Slovak resources to Kyiv since returning to power in 2023.
