Slovakia's Ambiguous Role in Ukraine Support Coalition

Slovakia finds itself in an uncertain position within the multinational coalition formed to support Ukraine, simultaneously appearing to be both a member and a non-member of the grouping. The coalition, sometimes referred to informally as a 'coalition of the willing,' was established by Western nations to coordinate military and financial assistance to Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia. Slovakia, which currently holds the presidency of the European Union Council, has sent mixed signals about its level of commitment to the coalition, reflecting the government's broader ambivalent stance on aid to Ukraine.
