Medical Trade Union Welcomes State Hospital Audits Amid Reform Push

Share:

The Medical Trade Union has welcomed government audits of state-run hospitals as Slovakia's health ministry pushes forward with healthcare reforms. Health Minister Kamil Šaško announced after a Thursday conference that five pilot audits of state hospitals have produced eight key recommendations for improvement. The audits represent part of broader efforts to reform Slovakia's healthcare system, which has faced longstanding challenges including funding shortages and staffing issues. State hospitals in Slovakia provide the majority of healthcare services to the country's 5.4 million residents through a mixed public-private system.
