Modra pedagogical school to unveil memorial plaque to Ferdinand Písecký

A pedagogical secondary school in Modra will hold a ceremonial unveiling of a memorial plaque dedicated to Ferdinand Písecký on June 22. Písecký served as an aide-de-camp to M. R. Štefánik, held the rank of captain in the Czechoslovak Legions, and was a former director of the school. M. R. Štefánik was a key figure in the establishment of Czechoslovakia after World War I and served as the country's first Minister of War. The Czechoslovak Legions were military units formed by Czech and Slovak volunteers who fought alongside the Allies during World War I, playing a crucial role in securing international recognition for Czechoslovak independence.
