Iran Rejects Ceasefire Talks with US, Citing Pattern of Attacks During Negotiations

Share:

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi firmly rejected the possibility of a ceasefire or new negotiations with the United States in an interview with NBC News on Thursday. Araghchi stated that Tehran no longer trusts Washington, explaining that previous US attacks occurred precisely during diplomatic efforts. "We see no reason why we should negotiate with the US, as they have attacked us every time during talks," the foreign minister said. The rejection comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where Iran has been involved in regional conflicts through its proxy groups while facing pressure from the US and its allies. Iran's position reflects deep skepticism about American diplomatic intentions, based on what Iranian officials view as a pattern of military action undermining peace efforts.
