Russian Drones Cross Into Western Ukraine Near Slovak Border, University Official Says

Russian drones are crossing into Ukraine's westernmost Zakarpattia region near the Slovak border, according to a senior university official in the area. Miroslava Lendel, vice-rector for science, research and international relations at Uzhhorod National University, said a drone landed just one kilometer from her family home during a recent massive Russian attack. The strikes have reached the Zakarpattia region, which borders Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania, bringing the war closer to NATO's eastern frontier. Lendel described how the proximity of the attacks has changed local residents' perception of the conflict, with people now more fearful than before as the reality of warfare arrives in what had been one of Ukraine's safest regions.
