Volkswagen Slovakia will suspend automobile production for three weeks in what the company describes as a routine summer shutdown. The temporary halt is a standard annual practice in the automotive industry, allowing manufacturers to carry out maintenance, retooling, and other operational work during the slower summer period. Volkswagen's plant in Bratislava is one of Slovakia's largest employers and a cornerstone of the country's automotive sector, which accounts for a significant share of Slovak industrial output and exports.
