Municipal councilors in Čierne, a town in northern Slovakia, voted to reject a reconstruction project for the local sports complex that was valued at nearly one million euros. Despite the rejection, renovation work will still proceed but at a significantly reduced cost. The future scope and funding of the sports facility reconstruction now depends on a decision by Slovakia's Ministry of Sports, which oversees national sports infrastructure development and can provide alternative funding mechanisms for municipal projects.
